The Complete Composition.

A Body.
A Forest.
One Continuous Life.
A figure emerges from a dense field of forest color, neither entirely concealed nor fully separate from the landscape. Its profile remains legible even as its edges give way to foliage, shadow, and light.
The painting suspends a moment of transformation. Is the figure rising from the earth, or returning to it? Rather than settle the question, the work allows both movements to exist at once.

Where Form
Becomes
Feeling.
Seen from across a room, the luminous center gives the painting its quiet force. Near the canvas, that light breaks into individual strokes: cream pulled over blue, pale gold crossing muted green, each mark carrying its own direction and weight.
The deep teal and forest tones hold the figure in shadow. Below, passages of crimson and copper gather with the intensity of fallen leaves, embers, and memory. The eye moves between stillness and motion.
This is a work to encounter twice: first as a complete presence, then as a landscape of paint.
“The figure is not being consumed so much as translated.”

What Remains
When the
Border Fades.
“Perhaps we have always remained inside it.”
The Earth Remembers Our Shape considers whether individuality is a lasting separation from nature or a temporary form assumed by the same living world. The forest does not merely surround the figure. Color and light pass through it, suggesting continuity rather than erasure.
The artist’s wider practice explores vulnerability, resolve, beauty, and the fragile persistence of hope. Here, the question is one of belonging: whether the earth is something to which we return, or something from which we were never truly apart.
Original compositions are developed through digital drawing and image-making tools. Selected works are then realized in oil on canvas by professional studio painters under the artist’s direction. The process joins the originating artistic vision with the tactile presence of paint.
