Created by Someone Who Has Been There

During my own battle with pancreatic cancer, I learned firsthand how long and exhausting chemotherapy days could be. I learned to pack a bag with things that helped me get through those hours: something to drink, something to eat, things to keep my mind occupied, and small comforts that made a difficult experience just a little easier.

That experience became the inspiration for our Healing Backpacks, a project that began with support from the City of Boston's veterans grant program to bring comfort and encouragement to veterans receiving care.

Today, we are extending that same spirit of compassion to families, friends, caregivers, and loved ones everywhere.

What's Inside a Healing Backpack?

Every backpack is thoughtfully curated with a generous assortment of useful, comforting, and uplifting items. Depending on availability, selections may include:

• A quality reusable bag — a practical companion for treatment appointments, hospital visits, or everyday use.
• Soft socks and cozy comforts — warmth and softness for long hours of sitting or resting.
• A soft blanket or throw — a little extra comfort when it is needed most.
