I Will Always Be There
About This Artwork
Companion to Heart in Color
If Heart in Color reveals the courage to be seen,
then I Will Always Be There holds the promise that follows
a vow spoken quietly in the shadow of uncertainty.
This painting was born during a time when life felt fragile and unfinished.
As illness brought me close to the edge of what might have been goodbye, my thoughts turned not toward fear for myself, but toward the person I loved. In those uncertain moments, I prepared what I could arranging, protecting, and caring in advance so that even if I were gone, he would still be held, still be safe, still be guided.
The image emerges from that promise.
A bowed figure fills the foreground, fractured into passages of color and textured light, as though emotion itself has reshaped the body. Ahead, a solitary presence continues walking forward through a luminous corridor. The distance between them is not abandonment.
It is guardianship.
The hovering light suggests something unseen yet enduring
the quiet belief that love does not end at the boundary of the body,
and that care can continue even beyond presence.
Layered strokes of deep shadow, ember orange, radiant white, and quiet blue create a surface that feels both fragile and protective. Movement and stillness coexist, holding the viewer inside the suspended space between departure and devotion.
This work is not about death.
It is about continuity.
About the fierce tenderness of wanting to remain beside someone
not only in life, but beyond it.
Where Heart in Color reveals what spills outward,
I Will Always Be There reveals what stays.
Together, they speak to the alchemy of love
how connection transforms fear into protection,
and uncertainty into promise.
Subtle shifts in texture and luminosity allow the painting to change with surrounding light, giving it a living presence within a space
a quiet reminder that love, once given fully, does not disappear.
It remains.
Watching.
Holding.
Still there.
