A CLOSER READING
What I survived, I give back as color.
The solitary figure seems to erupt into a vast field of pigment. The colors are not chaos. They are an expression of the self after hardship has remade it: all that was felt in silence suddenly taking form in the open air.
Transformation is incomplete if it remains locked within the person who has endured it. Here, the inner life flows outward. The figure carries color and beauty back into the world, an act of generosity made possible by survival. This painting has been sold.
